Is There Too Much To-Do at the End of Your Today?

Do you feel like days fly by and you aren’t getting what you want accomplished? Is there too much to-do at the end of your today?

Then stop being a drifter!

Drifters are people who are wandering through life without any direction. Yes, this is likely you since 98% of people are drifters.

You spend more time planning your next vacation than you do planning your life!

A drifter is someone who does little or no thinking for him/herself. You allow yourself to be influenced and controlled by other people and circumstances without doing your own thinking.

Your most powerful tool is your mind. One of the few things you can control in your life is your thoughts. If you don’t know what you want from life you are going to end up with whatever life throws at you and you will not be happy. Is this striking a chord?

Don’t be lazy! Be a thinker, be a decider, and be a doer! Your thoughts and definite plans are what will shift you from a drifter to an achiever.

Imagine playing a game of basketball with a ball but no hoop. You have nothing to aim at. How do you expect to score and win?!?!?!

Your life works the same way! You haven’t set the target you are aiming for. You are simply throwing the ball in the air hoping somehow you will score and win. Guess what…you’re losing!

You are caught up in the rat race and it’s likely not even YOUR rat race! You are so busy attending everyone else’s agendas (lives) you aren’t allocating any time for you.

YOU are the most important person. If you aren’t healthy, if your mind is racing causing you to not be present, if you are constantly checking a mobile device, how do you expect to be at your best for your family, friends, and career?

Wouldn’t you rather be clear on were to spend your time so you can get rid of all the unnecessary busyness cluttering your life? Wouldn’t you rather be present for the people you love and care the most about?

Set targets for your life so you have something you are aiming toward. This helps you make decisions. This helps you decide how to spend your time because it becomes clear on what is important and what is not. If it isn’t moving you closer to your target then don’t spend time on it. Plain and simple!

I am asking you to help me in my mission. Be the exception! Join the community of the 2% of achievers.

ACTION STEP: Dedicate some uninterrupted time for you to plan your life. The more specific you are and the more emotion you feel for each of your targets the more likely you are to achieve them. Don’t worry about the “how” at this point. We’ll address the “how” at another time. For now just focus on the “what.”

Set targets for the 5 areas of living an Inspired Life:

  1. Health (spiritual, emotional, mental, and physical)

  2. Relationships (personal, professional, spiritual)

  3. Lifestyle (What do you want to do? What do you want to have?)

  4. Legacy (What do you want to be remembered for when you die? How do you want to contribute to society?)

  5. Finances (business/career, income, revenue, profit, net worth)

Here is a list of questions to get you thinking:

  • What results do I want for my mental, emotional, spiritual, and physical health? How do I want to feel?

  • What would make my relationship better with my spouse, partner, or significant other? My kids? Other family members?

  • What could I do to improve my relationships in my career?

  • How would I like to change my lifestyle? (house, vehicle, use of time, travel, vacations)

  • What legacy do I want to live and leave?

  • How would I like to be contributing to my community, country, and/or the world?

  • How much income do I want to earn this year?

  • How much profit do I want to earn this year (the power is in the profit!)?

  • What do you want your net worth to be in 5 years?
